There are three age ranges for speech events within Verity’s regional and national tournament schedule: Junior ages 5-8, JV ages 9-11, and Varsity ages 12-18.

Your child’s age is evaluated as of October 1st each year. Therefore, if your child is 12 on October 2nd, for Verity, and our regional (CCofSE) and national league (Stoa), their age for the year would still be 11.

Verity follows CCofSE guidelines for all Junior and JV events. For Varsity events, both Verity and CCofSE follow all Stoa guidelines. You can find the information about each speech event in the drop-down menu. Please select the correct age/group for the speech events available. Please note that not all tournaments will offer all events.
